Anatomy of a Fighter Presents

A BSB Production

The Angel in the Marble

After five years of documenting the stories of some of the best mixed martial arts fighters in the world, award-winning filmmaker, Will Harris, is writing a new chapter. His docuseries, “Anatomy of a Fighter,” has chronicled the journeys of elite boxers and mix martial artists, following their ups and downs as they compete at the highest levels. Over time, Will began to see commonalities with the mindset that’s needed to succeed as an athlete, and the mindset needed to succeed in life. That led to his intersection with BSB Founder and CEO, Kash Shaikh, who’s spent the past decade speaking about - and implementing - the connection between sports and entrepreneurship. Kash coaches BSB like a sports team, and has created a culture that rewards values-based leadership, performance-driven principles, and a team-first approach. That environment has led to business growth, community recognition, and an award-winning culture.

And Will wanted to document it.

In his first foray from the fight game to the entrepreneurial battlefield, Will spends two months with Kash and the BSB team to share a bit of the people, principles, and process that it takes to carve and create a great company.

Episode 1: The Pitch
Episode 1: The Pitch
BSB Founder and CEO, Kash Shaikh, is building three companies at once. Not exactly the recommended approach in any “Startup 101” webinar. But he believes he has the right team, right partners, and - most importantly - the right culture to do it. Kash believes winning as an entrepreneur requires the same mentality as winning as an athlete: Discipline, focus, consistency; talent meshed with hard work; and a whole lot of “reps”… And he pushes that mantra at BSB. It’s not for everybody. But for some people, there's no better place.
Episode 2: The Rookie
Episode 2: The Rookie
Culture is everything at BSB. Team-first, all-in, and high-bar. It’s aspirational. But it’s not for everyone. AJ Kool, a new hire from Butler University, is learning this firsthand as he dives into work as part of the BSB Sports team. AJ navigates the day to day of company building while trying to learn and absorb from his chances and his mistakes. The company believes in him, but he’s got to prove what he can do. He’s a rookie.
Episode 3: The Trains
Episode 3: The Trains
From 51 countries to all 50 states, travel has always been a core part of Kash Shaikh’s DNA. But in 2013, a chance meeting with 8-year old “Michael Jackson” in Shirati, Tanzania set Kash on a new course, inspiring him to launch the original Besomebody app. After an unbelievably strong start in Austin, just three years and one Shark Tank appearance later, Kash was dead broke. So when the opportunity for a life-changing meeting came up nearly 1000 miles away, nothing was going to stop him from getting there.
Episode 4: The Legend
Episode 4: The Legend
Barry Larkin, baseball Hall of Famer, has more than a few stories to tell. And from the moment Barry met Kash, he realized that while they have traveled different paths, they’ve shared a similar journey. Winning, losing, rebuilding, and constantly raising the bar in the pursuit of greatness. This bond between a professional athlete and a successful entrepreneur has already carried them far - but they’re about to embark on a new, world-changing mission together…and they don’t even know it yet.
Episode 5: The Pivot

The plan has changed. With the introduction of a new opportunity that was just too big to pass up, Kash is guiding the BSB team down a completely different path. And that decision is shaping up to be one of the most exciting - and challenging - journeys of his life. All of it will go down in one of the hottest cities in the world, more than 7,000 miles away. It will take all he has to hit this one out of the park.
Episode 6: The League
Episode 6: The League
The journey Kash and the BSB team are on is filled with unknowns. Building something from scratch is never easy, but in the Middle East and Asia, it’s as much politics as it is entrepreneurship. Bringing this vision to life is going to be the biggest challenge Kash has ever faced, and after 11 years of going full throttle - running three companies at the same time - does he really want to start all over?
Episode 7: The Truth
Season 1 Finale - Episode 7: The Truth

But when life throws a curveball that affects you outside the lines, it can test the will of even the most resolute of builders. Kash gets some news from the team and his doctor that will force him to re-examine his commitment and double-down on his values.
